About Customs
Swedish Customs possesses unique expertise when it comes to goods flows, which is why we are given the important task of managing the flow of goods, ensuring competitive neutrality in trade and contributing to a safe and secure society. We simplify legal trade and prevent illegal trade by offering flexible customs procedures for international trade, simple border passage for travellers and effective border protection.
During 2013 Swedish Customs
- collected approximately SEK 57,4 billion from customs duties, taxes and other charges
- made more than 6,450 seizures of drugs and doping preparations
- performed 97,000 physical checks (e.g. inspections of goods, vessels and passengers)
- processed 5,6 million customs declarations.

- We operate throughout the country, but are concentrated at border locations with large goods flows, in particular Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö.
