There has always existed a requirement for declaring the importation of weapons to Swedish Customs when passing the border. As from 1 July 2012 there will be a tightening of weapons legislation and it will now be a punishable offence failing to submit a declaration. The changes are one stage in the government´s work for preventing the criminal use of firearms and to prevent unsuitable persons gaining access to weapons.

One way for your company to make import declarations is to use the normal procedure. This means that you have all the information relating to your consignment at the time of importation so that you can submit a fully completed declaration. By doing that your declaration follows the normal procedure.
